Editor’s Introduction to the KJVM Project

The King James Version Modernized (KJVM) Project was established out of a deep reverence for the 1611 Authorized Version, and the 1769 King James Version. For centuries, this version has served as the definitive English standard for the Church. However, as the English language evolves, the shift in certain meanings has created barriers for the contemporary reader. The objective of this project is to remove those obstacles while preserving the foundational strength of the KJV.
This work is not a new translation but a meticulous modernization of the existing KJV text. My role has been to serve as a faithful editor, ensuring that every linguistic update remains true to the original KJV cadence. To achieve the highest level of accuracy and consistency, this project utilized a collaborative editorial process with advanced artificial intelligence.
Working chapter by chapter with Microsoft Copilot, the text was analyzed and rendered to ensure that every modernized word—such as changing "quick" to "living" or "conversation" to "conduct"—accurately reflects the underlying Hebrew and Greek meanings. This partnership allowed for a rigorous cross-referencing of the original languages against the 1611 and 1769 text, ensuring that no theological meaning was lost in the modernization process.
The result is a text that remains the King James Version at its heart, but is presented with a clarity that serves the modern believer. It is my hope that through this project, the Name of the LORD is honored and His Word is made more accessible to this generation.
